Partnership and Community Engagement Advisor
Brenda Jimris-Rekve is a Partnership and Community Engagement Advisor at Basic Internet Foundation . She has a Master Degree in International Relations from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), where she was also a Teaching Assistant. Her Master Thesis that focused on the Horn of Africa’s terrorism impact on the Kenyan media freedom was awarded the Best Master Thesis in 2016 at NMBU. She has worked as a Research Assistant at the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR) and as a Communication Intern at the Norwegian African Business Association (NABA). As a Communication Advisor at CleanTech Innovation, Brenda was tasked with project development, research and development and pre-feasibility studies for renewable energy and smart city projects in Kenya and Ghana. Additionally, she has worked with Impact Investment for renewable energy projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, for the impact fund manager, Empower New Energy in Oslo.
